Born in France in 1853, when Hiram Hutchinson landed in the country, and set up "La Compagnie du Caoutchouc Souple" (The Flexible Rubber Company) in Montargis which produced waterproof shoes, boots and clothes on a large scale. He patented the brand "A L'Aigle" as a tribute to the American Bald Eagle. Aigle roots reach deep into the earth and the sea... its curiosity is constantly stimulated by the world around us and has enabled us to develop our unique know-how in the protection of man in nature. Aigle offers essential, contemporary products for men, women and children. Its efforts focus on the use of innovative design, materials and production techniques in the development of durable, functional, fashionable clothing, shoes, boots and watches. Aigle and the French AREVA Challenge team have been associated as to win the 32nd America's Cup. The fruit of this partnership: a specific match race line developed by the Aigle Design Team.

More recently in 2008, a very innovative and striking advertising Aigle campaign: "for the reintroduction of Man into Nature" Men and women moving so naturally through outstanding landscapes that it is almost possible to mistake them for animals: nature thus once again becomes Man's natural habitat.
